What is Enough?

What’s Enough?

Enough is the secret of happiness.  Enough allows you to live your life, take care of the people you love, and do the things that you want to do when you want to do them in the manner that you choose.

Everyone has a different definition of their enough.  We all like different things.  Some of us have lots of children and grandchildren.  Some of us have charitable or entrepreneurial ambitions that require additional capital.

We all have the need for a home, and some of us like a bigger house than others.  Most of us enjoy taking vacations and driving cars.  Some people fly coach while others spend more for other options.  Some like their Accord and others need their German luxury.

The differences are what make people interesting, and in a free country, we are all allowed to pursue our own definition of enough.  Good financial planning is, in my mind, centered around the conversation of what is your enough.

It doesn’t matter what anyone else wants or needs; it matters what you want and need.  Thinking about what other people may or may not think about you is a great way to set yourself up to be miserable.

Ideally, we work, we save, we slow down or stop, and we enjoy our time and our accumulated savings.  Part of determining what you need is defining what you want.  What you want determines how much you need to save and how long you need to work.

It’s your story, and the sooner you define your enough, the clearer the needed actions can be defined and implemented to create your reality.  We have been helping clients talk through their enough, and take the actions needed to live their story for over thirty years.

Everyone has a different definition of what is enough.  Enough allows you to live your life, take care of the people you love, and do the things that you want to do when you want to do them in the manner that you choose. Family Legacy can help define enough and develop a plan to get there.
